Procurement & Operations Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are an interior design firm based in Red Bank, NJ, located within a retail furniture showroom, nest. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Procurement & Operations Assistant to support both our design studio and the showroom. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong time management skills, and enjoys working with vendors, logistics, and clients. A background in interior design or retail is beneficial but not required.

This is a part-time, in-office position with the potential to grow into a full-time role or evolve into other design or retail-related responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage procurement for both design projects and showroom inventory, including gathering quotes, placing orders, tracking shipments, and handling claims/returns.

  • Enter product details, pricing, and vendor information into design and inventory management software.

  • Coordinate installations and deliveries for both design clients and retail customers.

  • Organize and manage material samples, inventory, and supplies for both the design studio and

    showroom.

  • Provide support for showroom operations, including customer inquiries, inventory updates, and

    organization.

  • Collaborate with the design and retail teams to streamline workflow and improve efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software (experience with design and retail management software is a plus).

  • Ability to take direction and work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Figure-it-out mindset.

  • Familiarity with interior design and/or retail operations is beneficial but not required.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as unpacking shipments, moving inventory, and assisting

    with client deliveries.

  • Comfortable with reviewing pricing and vendor statements, applying markups/discounts, and

    ensuring accurate reconciliation of charges.

Junior Interior Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a residential interior design firm based in Red Bank, NJ, located within a retail furniture showroom, nest. We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Interior Designer to join our team. This role involves working on a wide range of design projects from concept through installation. It’s an excellent opportunity for a designer looking to gain hands-on experience in all facets of the design process, while collaborating closely with vendors and clients.

This is an in-office role with potential for growth and involvement in both the design studio and showroom projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to all phases of design projects from conception through installment.

  • Produce drawings including plans, elevations, architectural/millwork details, lighting

    drawings and custom furniture, to illustrate design intent and material usage for client

    presentation, vendor fabrication and construction purposes.

  • Develop and manage FF&E schedules for construction projects.

  • Source and coordinate with outside vendors to procure furniture, fixtures, and accessories.

  • Enter product details, pricing, and vendor information into design management software,

    ensuring accurate application of markups, discounts, and pricing adjustments.

  • Assist with the coordination and management of installations, scheduling, and logistics.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and

    deadlines.

  • Maintain the integrity of our sample library by organizing materials, ensuring they are

    current, and sourcing updated samples as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of interior design experience.

  • Degree or certificate in Interior Design or a related field.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Strong knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and color specifications for high-end

    residential environments.

  • Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and design requirements.

  • A proactive, figure-it-out mindset, with the ability to manage up, multitask, and work

    independently or within a team.

  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in both design and project management.

  • Willingness to assist with physical tasks, including hauling samples or small furniture during

    presentations or installations.
